SUGAR BARE
YOU'VE GOT QUESTIONS?
WE'VE GOT ANSWERS!
Yes! Sugaring is safe enough even for expecting mommies!
WHAT IS SUGARING?
Sugaring is an ancient Egyptian natural form of hair removal. Consisting of only a few simple and organic ingredients: sugar, water and lemon, it is cooked down like candy forming a paste. At room temperature (no discomfort of hot wax), the paste is removed in the same direction of hair growth rather that against it. This allows the hair to easily slip out of the follicle safely and comfortably.
Your skin is your largest organ, absorbing everything that is put on it. Treat it well with an all natural product that exfoliates and brightens.
HOW TO PREPARE
-
Avoid shaving for at least 1.5 weeks prior to your appointment.
-
On the day of your appointment, please do not exfoliate or moisturize the area to be sugared.
IMMEDIATE AFTER CARE:
AVOID the following for the next 24-48 hours:
-
Use of exfoliating products/mitts
-
Direct sun exposure and tanning beds
-
Creams with fragrance or ingredients that may irritate your skin
-
Deodorant; can result in irritation and clogging of open follicles
-
Tight clothing; may cause chaffing
-
Exercise; sweating may clog pores
-
Excessive heat; not limited to hot tubs, saunas and wet rooms
BEST maintenance practices after 24-48 hours:
-
Regular exfoliation with mitt; keeps skin soft and free from dead skin cells
-
Moisturize; keeps skin supple to help prevent ingrown hairs
-
Sunscreen SPF 30 or greater; sugared skin is more prone to sunburn
-
Please DO NOT shave between appointments; this disrupts the hair growth cycle
